GS1 Barcode Verification

The quality verification of GS1 barcodes is a crucial step in “ensuring that barcodes can be accurately scanned” in all business environments, such as retail stores, warehouses, logistics systems, and supply chains.

Why do have to Verification?

  • Reduce scanning errors: Poor-quality barcodes may be unreadable, causing delays in operations.
  • Comply with GS1 standards: High-quality barcodes ensure seamless integration into partners' or retailers' systems.
  • Improve logistics efficiency: Minimize errors in inventory management and transportation.
  • Lower reprinting costs: Printing high-quality barcodes from the start helps reduce correction expenses.

Barcode Verification Service Fees

GS1 Thailand members can submit barcode samples starting with the prefix 885 for a free barcode quality inspection. The number of free inspections depends on the annual membership fee as follows:

1. 1D Barcode

Members are entitled to free Barcode Verification. based on their annual membership fee as follows:

  • 12,000 THB/year – 35 reports

  • 10,000 THB/year – 30 reports

  • 8,000 THB/year – 25 reports

  • 3,000 THB/year – 10 reports

  • 1,500 THB/year – 5 reports

  • Additional service fees:

    Exceeding the free quota: 300 THB per report

    Barcode from other GS1 member organizations: 500 THB per report

    **Processing time: 5 business days

The barcode inspection service fee is 700 THB per report.

**Processing time: 5 business days.

  • GS1 Members (885): 500 THB per report

  • GS1 Codes from Other Countries: 700 THB per report

  • Non-Members: 1,000 THB per report

    **Express Processing Time: 1 Business Day.

2. 2D Barcode

Members are entitled to free barcode verification for up to 5 reports per year.

Exceeding the free limit: 700 THB per report

For GS1 barcodes from other countries: 1,000 THB per report

**Processing Time: 5 Business Days.

The barcode inspection service fee is 2,000THB per report.

**Processing time: 5 business days.

  • GS1 Members (885): 1,000 THB per report

  • GS1 Codes from Other Countries: 2,000 THB per report

  • Non-Members: 3,000 THB per report

    **Express Processing Time: 1 Business Day.

Steps for barcode quality verification

Download and complete

- Download the membership application form from the website.
- Complete GS1 Thailand application form.

Make payment and send proof of payment (If there are any expenses)

- Pay the fee and send pay-in slip to GS1 Thailand.

Send forms and work pieces for inspection

You can submit your work to GS1 or by post.

Waiting for the inspection certificate

The inspection will be completed within 5 working days.

Terms & Conditions

  • Validate only GS1 standard barcodes: One-dimensional barcodes (GTIN-8, GTIN-12, GTIN-13, GTIN-14, GS1-128) and Two-dimensional barcodes (GS1 QR Code, GS1 DataMatrix).
  • Barcode verification process will take 5 working days after receiving the sample and fee.
  • Verify the quality of final product sample or artwork (Artwork should be printed in actual size and color on photo paper.)
  • GS1 Thailand reserves the right to adjust the packaging for verification, and we are not responsible for any damages to the sample.
  • Barcode verification report is valid for 6 months and can be issued in Thai or English (1 language per report).
  • Members must pick up the sample within 2 weeks from due date. After that, we’ll reserve the right to take appropriate action.
